M’sian girl, 11, hands out S$900 cash to classmates without mum’s knowledge; wanted her friends to be happy

Have you ever done something silly as a kid just to make your friends happy? 
A Malaysian woman named Saidatul Liyana, who goes by the online handle @cikdat_, recently found out her 11-year-old daughter was giving out money to her peers in school.
She later took to Threads to recount the incident. 
According to Liyana, she received a call from her daughter’s teacher, who wanted to find out if she was aware that the young girl was bringing large sums of cash to school.
She then informed Liyana that her daughter was handing out RM20 (S$6), RM50 (S$15), and RM100 (S$30) bills to her classmates. 
The teacher knew something was up as she was aware that the girl was only given RM5 (S$1.50) in pocket money daily.
Liyana later found out her daughter had given out a total of RM3K (S$904).
Liyana was “in tears” after realising what her kid had done as it was “not an easy amount to earn”. 
However, she later found out the reason behind the girl’s generosity. 
“She explained that she simply wanted to give it to them because they looked happy when she did,” wrote Liyana, who also made sure to check that her daughter wasn’t bullied into giving money. 
She also discovered that her daughter had gathered the money from the duit raya (or raya money) that was given to her and her siblings.
“[My daughter] also told me she wanted to be like me after she saw me giving money to other people like her grandparents and cousins.”
Liyana explained to her daughter why her actions, while stemming from a good place, were wrong. She acknowledged her daughter’s generosity, but also sternly informed her that she shouldn’t take her siblings’ money without permission. 
She also said she would check the money her daughter takes to school daily now.
