It‘s Election Day. Here’s what you need to know

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Election Day is officially here and voter service centers across the state are bracing for big crowds.
Residents began lining up at Kapolei Hale as early as 5 a.m.
Despite the heavy rains and thunderstorms, voters stood in the rain waiting almost over an hour for their turn to cast their ballot.
If you haven‘t registered to vote, it’s not too late.
Residents can still register to vote any time up to the election online or at a voter service center (see below).
Election officials are reminding voters who wish to cast their ballot in person, to come prepared. Voters must bring a picture ID with them in order to vote.
All voter service centers are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
You might want to consider bringing a rain jacket or umbrella with you as heavy rains are expected in some areas.
